What happens to your information on this site
Sell My Car SoCali gets your name, number or email only when you send them: through the request form, an email to the help address or a phone call. Reading a page hands Cloudflare, the site's host, your IP address and the page request, as any web host receives them. Below is how the site's own code treats each route.
When you only read
There are no accounts. A calculator or checker on a guide works in your browser and sends what you enter nowhere. The pages hold no analytics or advertising tags, the site's code sets no cookies, and its security policy lets your browser load scripts, fonts and images from this site's address only. Cloudflare hosts the site and receives your IP address and each request in order to deliver a page; the site's code keeps no list of pages a visitor opens and asks Cloudflare not to add its analytics script.
What the request form sends
The form on the sell page sends your name, phone number, email if you add one, the ZIP where the car sits, its year, make, model and rough mileage, your answers on whether it runs and what the title shows, and the notes box. The page adds how many milliseconds the form was open and which page you sent it from.
The server, which runs on Cloudflare, turns these into one plain-text email from leads@sellmycarsocali.com to the business's inbox, and to no one else. A valid email address you typed becomes the reply-to address.
Three short records on the server
Nothing else you type is stored. The server keeps three short records, and each deletes itself when its time runs out:
- Your phone number's digits, for 10 minutes, so a repeat request from that number sends no second email.
- Your IP address with a count of its requests in the current clock hour, for up to two hours; once that count reaches 15, further requests from the address that hour send nothing.
- A 90-day log entry with the year, make and model, the ZIP, the page, the runs and title answers and the time, but no name, phone, email or notes.
How robots are turned away
The form has a hidden company box that people never see. A request that fills it in, one sent less than 2.5 seconds after the page opened, or one over the hourly cap sends no email, yet still shows the usual thank-you so a script learns nothing.
The consent line, word for word
Under the send button the form prints:
By sending this you agree that a person from Sell My Car SoCali may call or text this number about your car. Your details are used to answer this request and for nothing else.
There is no mailing-list box.
Email to the help address, and calls
Mail to help@sellmycarsocali.com is forwarded to the business's inbox, where it stays and is used to answer you or fix a guide. A call to (657) 699-0008 goes through a phone provider that rings a person, and the provider's call log shows your number and the time. The line is set up for voice calls, not texts, so the site's code receives and stores no text messages sent to it.
Asking about your information
Email help@sellmycarsocali.com with Privacy in the subject line to ask what the business holds about you, such as a request email, an email thread or a call-log line, or to ask for it to be deleted. When the site changes how it handles information, this page is updated to match.
